Computer science is the scientific and practical approach to computation and its applications. It is the systematic study of the feasibility, structure, expression, and mechanization of the methodical procedures (or algorithms) that underlie the acquisition, representation, processing, storage, communication of, and access to information. An alternate, more succinct definition of computer science is the study of automating algorithmic processes that scale. A computer scientist specializes in the theory of computation and the design of computational systems.

Theoretical computer science is a division or subset of general computer science and mathematics that focuses on more abstract or mathematical aspects of computing and includes the theory of computation.

It is not easy to circumscribe the theory areas precisely and the ACM's ACM SIGACT (SIGACT) describes its mission as the promotion of theoretical computer science and notes:

The field of theoretical computer science is interpreted broadly so as to include algorithms, data structures, computational complexity theory, distributed computation, parallel computation, VLSI, machine learning, computational biology, computational geometry, information theory, cryptography, quantum computation, computational number theory and algebra, program semantics and verification, automata theory, and the study of randomness. Work in this field is often distinguished by its emphasis on mathematical technique and rigour.

Binary - quite simply. 0 and 1 - still and movement - minus and positive - stop and go - halt and allow - oh the allegory can continue through day and night...

Computer Science is a new form of Evolution - another platform for consciousness to express it's allegory through. Systemized copies of thought processes and connections. In fact Computer Science contains the biggest allegory of all - examine the behaviours of systems within computer science - are they talking about computers or humans? Is there really a difference?
